Contractors and freelancers
Limited company or sole trader, IR35, how much to pay yourself and when. I'll set you up properly from day one and help you understand where you stand on IR35 before you sign anything.
Locum doctors, pharmacists and healthcare professionals
I look after a good number of locum doctors, dentists and pharmacists. Whether you're mixing a salaried post with locum shifts or going fully locum, I'll show you the most tax-efficient way to do it, and make sure things like your GMC, indemnity and professional fees go through properly.
Landlords
Self assessment for your rental income, keeping your records straight, and an honest view on whether holding property personally or in a company makes sense for you. The rules for landlords keep changing, and I'll keep you on top of them.
Owner-managed businesses
Year-end accounts, corporation tax, payroll, VAT and bookkeeping, all in one place. If you want more than once-a-year accounts, I can give you monthly figures so you know where you stand.

I'm based at 314 Keighley Road in Bradford, and I work with clients in Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield, Keighley, Shipley and Bingley.
Plenty of my clients are much further away. Most of our chats happen over Teams or on the phone, and documents are shared securely online, so it really doesn't matter where in the UK you are.
Questions people usually ask
How much does an accountant cost?
It depends on what you need. A sole trader's self assessment is a very different job to a limited company with payroll and VAT. I agree one fixed monthly fee with you upfront, after a free call, so you know exactly what you're paying and there are no surprise bills.
Do you only work with children's care homes?
No. Care homes are my specialism, but I also look after contractors, locum doctors and pharmacists, landlords and owner-managed businesses.
I'm not in Bradford. Can you still be my accountant?
Yes. Most of my clients I speak to over Teams or on the phone, and everything is shared securely online, so it doesn't matter where in the UK you are.
Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?
There's no one answer. It depends on how much you earn, what other income you have, and what you're planning, like a mortgage. On our first call I'll run through your numbers and tell you straight which works out better for you.
How do I switch from my current accountant?
Just let me know you want to move. I'll contact your old accountant for the handover and get everything I need from them, so you don't have to chase anyone.
